There is a total of 19 kilometres of ski-runs with about 15 km that can be covered with artificial snow. In the winter of 1996 they started to install the snow-making system which has been extended and improved over the last years. Cooling towers, Schneilanzen and propeller machines, as well as the new water reservoir with 107,000 m ³ and two new pumping stations guarantee you snow in the whole skiing area.
By covering hilltops and borders with little snow, skiing on the runs is guaranteed. This uniform snow quality also increases the security of the skiers. Obviously, nature does not suffer from this, as sometimes criticized, as over 70 % of the runs to Ofterschwang and Gunzesried are used as pastures in summer. The snow-making system is also equipped with snow-making appliances from the company Techno Alpin from South Tyrol, market leader in technical snow-making.
Since winter 2010/2011 21 snow cannon and modern "schneilanzen" guarantee you a ski pleasure with a great amount of snow.
The 4-chairlift Weltcup-Express transports up to 1830 people per hour. Within 6 minutes the Weltcup-Express takes the skiers comfortably to the runs of the peak of Ofterschwanger Horn, covering a distance of 1500 m and a difference in altitude of 425 m. Comfortable means that for getting on and off the speed of the chairlift is reduced: coupling technique it is called by experts. Even for untrained chairlift-users, older skiers or snowboarders it is safe getting on and off. The 81 chairs are equipped with transparent protective hoods against the weather, so that even with rain or snow it is fun going up. Technical safety is guaranteed by the strict inspections of the Bavarian TÜV (MOT).
With the double chair lift in Gunzesried you can ski our marvellous skiing area "from the back". A comfortable entrance from Blaichach and a huge, free parking area directly infront of the chair lift allow you a quick entrance.
The connection T-bar lift "Ossi-Reichert" brings you to the mountain station of the Weltcup - Express. From there you are able to ski down to Ofterschwang via the Weltcup-piste or you can take the more difficult slope back to Gunzesried or the connecting slope "Geissrücken" across to the completly snow guaranteed "Märchenwiese".
A total of 3 T-bar lifts connect both chair lifts to ensure you have a great ski day. The "Ossi-Reichert-Lift" named after the Olympic champion and house mistress of the hotel Allgäuer Berghof brings you directly up to the mountain station of the new 4-seats-chair lift. From there you get via the "Gipfellift" to the summit with an elevation of 1406m.
On the "Familienabfahrt" to Ofterschwang you find half way down the "Alpe-Eck-Lift" which brings you back to the mountain station Gunzesried.
And then we offer another two practise lifts for beginners, one in Ofterschwang at the valley station Weltcup-Express" and the "Froschi-Lift" at the hotel Allgäuer Berghof.
